ANNOUNCEMENT!! JAMB Reveals New Method Of Registration

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) says starting from 2020, candidates will register for its examinations with their National Identity Management Number (NIM) to solve the challenges of multiple registration. Dr. Fabian Benjamin, Head of Media of the board made this known at a one-day capacity building workshop organised by the National Examination Council (NECO) for education correspondents in Keffi, Nasarawa on Friday. Benjamin, who spoke on the topic: “Understanding Reporting in the 21st Century”, said the development would be facilitated through partnership with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC). Supreme Court Dismisses Suit Seeking To Unseat Only Northern Female Senator

The Supreme Court yesterday dismissed a suit seeking to annul the primaries, which led to the election of the only female Senator from the northern part of the country, Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed (Binani). Binani won the Senatorial election for Adamawa Central District on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). But an aspirant, Abubakar Waziri, who was defeated by Senator Binani at the party’s primary election, filed a petition to disqualify the latter. He lost the case at the Federal High Court and the Court of Appeal and subsequently approached the Supreme Court. According to the result of the primary election, Waziri secured four votes while Senator Aisha Binani garnered 1,375 votes. Waziri was however dissatisfied and he asked the Supreme Court to annul the results of the primaries, which produced Binani. Represented by Barr. The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, has said it does not regulate how pastors operate their churches. CAN President, Rev. Supo Ayokunle said this while reacting to the latest allegations by wife of popular musician, Timi Dakolo, Busola, against Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, founder of COZA. Busola had alleged that the COZA founder had forcefully raped her when she was young. The mother-of-three narrated how Pastor Fatoyinbo allegedly forced his way onto her when she was just 18 years. In a swift reaction, Fatoyinbo denied the allegation, though admitted Busola once attended the same church with her family. Fatoyinbo consequently ordered his lawyers to institute both criminal and civil case against Busola.
