The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) says starting from 2020, candidates will register for its examinations with their National Identity Management Number (NIM) to solve the challenges of multiple registration. The Supreme Court yesterday dismissed a suit seeking to annul the primaries, which led to the election of the only female Senator from the northern part of the country, Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed (Binani). Binani won the Senatorial election for Adamawa Central District on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). But an aspirant, Abubakar Waziri, who was defeated by Senator Binani at the party’s primary election, filed a petition to disqualify the latter. He lost the case at the Federal High Court and the Court of Appeal and subsequently approached the Supreme Court. According to the result of the primary election, Waziri secured four votes while Senator Aisha Binani garnered 1,375 votes. The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, has said it does not regulate how pastors operate their churches. CAN President, Rev. Supo Ayokunle said this while reacting to the latest allegations by wife of popular musician, Timi Dakolo, Busola, against Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, founder of COZA. Busola had alleged that the COZA founder had forcefully raped her when she was young. The mother-of-three narrated how Pastor Fatoyinbo allegedly forced his way onto her when she was just 18 years. The suspects Operatives attached to the Inspector-General of Police Special Intelligence, Response Team, IRT, have arrested two men who admitted to killing three policemen escorting senior workers of Total Oil Nigeria,  Vanguard  has reported. The suspects disclosed that they killed the policemen and a civilian driver along Woji area of Port-Harcourt, Rivers State. The civilian killed during the attack was later identified as a driver to the vehicle, while the AK-47 rifles in possession of the policemen were all carted away by the suspects. Former Cote d’Ivore’s President Laurent Gbagbo Prosecutors will appeal the International Criminal Court’s shock acquittal of former Ivory Coast president Laurent Gbagbo over post-election violence, according to a court document seen by AFP on Wednesday. ICC judges cleared Gbagbo and his right-hand man Charles Ble Goude of charges of crimes against humanity on Tuesday. They also ordered their release but postponed it pending a fresh hearing on Wednesday where prosecutors would lay out objections. The prosecution filed an “urgent request” saying that it “has determined that it intends to appeal… following the acquittals”, the document said. According to reports, the young man was celebrating on the 1st of January when the accident happened. The fireworks was believed to have seven rounds but as the boy held it in his hand and lit it, it exploded on the first round. Godwin Emefiele is not doing a good job, Abubakar said, adding that he’d make the change when the governor’s first term ends in June. “I don’t think he’s pursued the right policies,” Abubakar, 72, said Wednesday in an interview in Nigeria’s commercial capital, Lagos. “We have to have the right people in there.” Under Emefiele, who was appointed in 2014, Nigeria has tightened capital controls and closely controlled the naira’s value.
